Are You a Chronic "Faffer" (Distracted Time-Waster)?
Steven Aitchison, Guest Blog

"Faffing" is the art of doing something without achieving anything.

I found this blog post after a client sent me something he found on line about faffing, which was what he was describing to me at our last session about the distracted activities pattern he finds himself in a lot. I never knew there was a word for this, so I appreciated the education. He didn't tell me what blog he found it on so I did some searching myself and found out that it's an English expression, and this blog post came up. See my comments and suggestions at the end.

Do You Ever Feel Like "Throwing in the Towel" on Your Business?

A client sent me an email today after having a few things happen that day that seemed to pile up into a feeling of frustration. "I just want to give it up. I am tired of over working. Wondering if this is what I am supposed to do. Why hasn't my business taken off after 6 years?"

Have you ever said things like this to yourself when a series of events occurred that made you feel angry or deflated? I know I have.

We can all have those days that seem to beat us down–in business and in our personal lives. And it seems bigger and more raw in the moment than it usually really is in the grander scheme of things.

Remember that circumstances and emotions are temporary. And you have the ability to change them. How? This was my advice to her:

How to Move from Holiday Hell to Holiday Happiness
Marci Shimoff, Guest Blog

The holidays are here and this creates opportunities for your business to create special programs or offers as gifts to give others for Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza, discounts to create incentive to buy now, or assistance for what people likely need during this time. That's a good thing.

Yet it also usually means a time of increased busyness, stress, cultural or familial pressures, and overwhelm. If you are experiencing this, it will have a negative impact on your business because you are the main influence on your business, whether you area a business of one, or a business with employees.

So, it's important that you take care of yourself so you can take care of your business.

Here's a blog post and video from Marci Shimoff, author of "Happy for No Reason" that has a good story behind it and some tips to make the holidays happier for you.

12-12-12: A Unique and Powerful Day for Reflection & Transformation

It's 12-12-12. The end of the world, or just a cool number?

Well, if you're reading this, the world is still here! Yay!

The Ancient Mayan calendar speaks of 12-12-2012 as the end of times as we know it, and the beginning of a new cycle of evolution for the humanity, the planet, and the cosmos. Mayan elders say that the Ancients were preparing the modern world to be ready for a huge transformation for the human race. Interestingly, traditions across the world, including Buddhism, Tao, Hopi and Vedic knowledge, predict a ‘Golden Age’ or ‘Satyug’ in their calendars around the same period.

December 2012 is being looked upon by many as a significant spiritual event and a momentous shift in the collective consciousness of the planet.

The number 12 seems to hold significance in human existence through the millennia. There are 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night, 12 months of the year in the Roman calendar, 12 Apostles, 12 days of Christmas, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 signs of the Zodiac,12 gods of Olympus, and 12 prophets of the old testament.

For me, 12-12-12 represents a powerful universal energy and an opportunity to focus on transformation and healing on a personal and global level.

What does this day of 12-12-12 mean to you?

God Wants You to Be Wealthy

One of the dilemmas of holisitc practitioners and spiritual business owners that keeps them from having monetarily successful businesses is the seeming contradiction between helping people/being spiritual and making money.

I've heard if from my peers, my clients, and even my own inner voice (usually in the tone of my maternal Grandfather). Just as I've had to work on it with myself (greatly improved but it still reappears from time to time, especially when I try to move up another level in income), this belief in its many forms shows up in all of my business clients to some degree and in various stages.

Thanks to some wonderul coaches and mentors, I have learned that God wants me to be abundant more than I want it, and accept this idea more and more in my life. I  in turn help my clients understand and accept it, too, in a way that opens them up to allow more abundance in.
