The 3 Ways Guaranteed to Make More Money in Your Biz

If you're in business to make money (if you're not, you're running an expensive hobby!), there are 3 guaranteed ways to do it. If you concentrate on developing ways to accomplish one or all three of them, I can guarantee that you will make more money!

1. Get More Customers/Clients

No matter your business model, the more clients you have and receive money from, the more income you will produce.

How do you get more clients? Well, there are tons of ways to promote your products/services and to encourage people to pay you for them. I covered some in this post and will continue to share more of them in future posts. But for now, focus on the most basic principle–get exposure (on line and off line) to more of your target market about what you offer. This comes down to a bit of a numbers game. The more people you can get in front of, the more people you can "pitch" and the greater your odds are for "yes"es.

2. Get your current customers/clients to buy more from you

a. This might be in the form of a continuity or maintenance program or product with you (get them to continue working with/buying from you past the initial purchase)

b. Offer them additional products or services that are different from what they purchased before; get feedback from your customers about what they need or want beyond what you've already given them. You will need to add to your offerings in order to continue to meet their needs and add to your bottom line. This will serve both you AND them.

c. Upsell them. Offer them more after the initial offer. "Sweeten the pot" with irresistable value-added features in order to entice them to say yes to just a little bit more. Think–"would you like fries with that for just 50 cents more?"

3. Raise your rates/prices

This can be a hard one for business owners, especially service-based ones, as fears and limiting beliefs usually get in the way–fear of losing people because they are shopping based on price, and/or guilt about not being able to help someone because they "can't afford" you. Trust me, I've been in that mindset (and come up against it every time I am at a point of having to do that)! But you CAN raise your rates and get it, AND serve more people. I'll share more about that in future posts, as it is a BIG  issue keeping many business owners and service professionals stuck at an undesirable income ceiling.

  1. Great topic! When I get stuck in overwhelm, I ask mesylf what single thing I can work on right now and complete quickly then I do that. It may be work related or something entirely different. Sometimes it is enough just to know I accomplished something and then I can settle back into work mode. Sometimes I have to re-evaluate what I am trying to do, overwhelm often hits me when I am doing the wrong thing and subconsciously I am fighting it! If it is the wrong thing, I stop trying so hard to make it work and do something that is better aligned with my goals.
