9-Gamut Technique for Calming Stress and Negative Emotions

Let’s face it. Being a business owner can be stressful–a lot! And often requires stepping out of our comfort zone to try new things, take risks, and put ourselves out there, which naturally initiates a feeling of fear, doubt, and uncertainty.

These emotions can cause us to procrastinate on taking action, diminish our creative thinking, drain our confident energy when communicating with others, and engage in unproductive habits–all sabotaging our potential to be and achieve our best.

But how do you stop that “emotion train” once it’s “left the station?” It can seem impossible, even if you’re consciously telling yourself to “snap out of it.”

My go-to technique is EFT (emotional freedom techniques) and I’d like to share with you one of its derivatives, the 9-Gamut Technique, in a quick tutorial video.

Hypnosis - word cloud illustrationWhy is Hypnosis Good for Business?

I often get raised eyebrows at networking or business meetings when I share that I am a mindset coach for business owners, and that I use neuroscience techniques such as hypnosis to help people change their unproductive behaviors and achieve their goals more quickly, easily & permanently.

For those who show curiosity and ask to know more about why and how I use hypnosis, and if or how it could help them with THEIR business, I share the following explanation:

hourglassHOW TO NOT WASTE TIME ON BAD PROSPECTS
(YET STILL BE OF SERVICE)

This topic came up in my local Women's Money MasterMind meeting today. I did some coaching around it for the ladies and thought it would be relevant to you, too.

Have you ever felt like you waste a lot of your precious/valuable time on "free consultations" with prospects who just weren't a good fit or didn't have the means/urgency to pay you to help them? How can you "weed them out" without feeling unkind or judgmental.

beauty in simplicity croppedSOMETIMES LESS IS MORE

When you're running a business, it's vital that you review your numbers (profit & loss statement/balance sheet) on a regular (at least quarterly) basis to see if you're on track with your goals and make adjustments before you get too far afield.

It's equally vital that you review your EFFORTS on a regular basis as well. That means things like …

Law Book

How the “Law of Diminishing Intent” Keeps You Stuck

I see this law proving itself a lot with my prospects (those who tell me they want to come see me but never respond to my offer of a free consultation and those who have a consultation but defer to work with me til a later date)as well as with friends, family, and others I meet in social situations complaining of unfulfilled goals. It’s disheartening to see. And I will admit that I am guilty of it at times, too.

It’s a very true and insidious “universal law,” which basically states that the longer you wait to take action on an idea you have or a goal you want to achieve, the less likely you are to actually take the action. And if you don’t take the action, nothing changes and you stay stuck right were you are.

“The road to nowhere is paved with unfulfilled intentions.”

So what causes us to put off doing what we usually know needs to be done in order to get unstuck from unsatisfactory situations? And more importantly, how can we help keep ourselves from falling prey to the stagnancy this law creates?

Read the four steps.

smoking pot

What common business activity lowers IQ more than smoking pot?

According to a study by the Institute of Psychiatry at the University of London, this common habit temporarily reduces your IQ by 10 points.

Women pride themselves on doing it–and being better than men at it.

Most fool themselves into thinking it make them more efficient.

I am guilty of doing it, and I would be willing to bet a pretty penny that YOU are guilty of it, too.

What IS this all-too-common brain function-reducing activity?

financial reports3 Essential Financial Reports to Ensure Your Profitability
Guest Blog, Tracey Lawton

Lisa's Foreword:

Numbers have never been my strong suit. I'm more of a right-brainer. But as my business has grown I have had to learn to understand, record, and track certain things dealing with numbers in order to make sure I was keeping my business legal in the eyes of the "tax collectors" as well as ensuring I was staying profitable.

I tried a few other people's systems for tracking my #s but found them more complicated than helpful and never kept up with them. Thankfully, 2 years ago, I designed my own excel spreadsheet that has worked very well for me, and each year I have tweaked a few things to make it even more helpful. Now I share this template with my private clients so they can have a simple tracking system that will be likely to work for them.

Today I ran across an article from Tracey Lawton, which explained this concept very well. And because it is such an important element of running a serious and profitable business, I decided to postpone the post I was going to share today so I could pass Tracey's information on to you this week.

Using Bitly to Shorten and Track URLs for Your List-Building Efforts (Video Blog)

bitly trackingI’ve been posting recently about list-building strategies and resources to help you find your ideal clients, marketing consistently and to authentically to them by giving them valuable information through a newsletter or regular emails, and continue to give them calls to action for purchasing products or services from  you.

This weekend I was helping a client who is just getting started with her health coaching business and promoting it on line to be able to use her IFO (Irresistible Free Offer) to find leads that would be ideal clients to help get over their Sugar Addiction.

Since she is a novice when it comes to technology, I was thinking of a way to simply help her track the results of her promotional efforts of her free offer, The Sugar Buster Kit. She can do this from her google analytics in the back end of her website or through the click report in her autoresponder program, but these are a little more complicated.
